SUMMARY:Dressage is for Everyone Clinic Series with Heather Oleson
DESCRIPTION:Umpqua Valley Chapter’s third clinic in the series with this month’s clinician\, Heather Oleson. Heather is an International Grand Prix dressage rider\, trainer\, instructor and clinician\, who was born and raised outside Portland\, Oregon. She has loved horses from the very beginning and participated in 4-H with her half-Arabian gelding SB Flame Dancer\, who would later become the first horse she trained to Grand Prix. Since then she has trained multiple horses to FEI\, competed extensively in the Northwest and on the California CDI circuit\, and competed at the USEF Festival of Champions twice on two different self-trained horses: Escorial in 2012 (Intermediare I) and Victor in 2016 (Grand Prix). Although she has worked with many excellent instructors\, Heather credits Ernst Herrmann\, Conrad Schumacher\, and the late Dietrich von Hopffgarten as the biggest influences on her training philosophy. Heather has been training and teaching dressage professionally for over 20 years and has helped many amateur\, junior\, and professional riders achieve their personal goals\, whether sitting the trot correctly to competing at the NAJYRC. She is a talented and positive yet honest instructor with an excellent eye for detail\, a deep interest in continuing education\, and a tremendous amount of experience teaching through FEI. \nAll levels of horses and riders are welcome. All disciplines are welcome to see how dressage can improve the horse and rider’s abilities.

SUMMARY:TDF Michael Poulin Dressage Fund Grant Application Deadline
DESCRIPTION:The Michael Poulin Dressage FundFriends\, students and supporters of Michael Poulin established the Fund at the Dressage Foundation in 2003. The Fund was authorized and established by a Resolution of the Board of Directors of The Dressage Foundation. The Resolution spells out the governance and operating policies/procedures for the Fund\, and provides a stewardship road map for today and tomorrow. \nPurpose\nThe purpose of The Michael Poulin Dressage Fund is to provide funding support for programs and projects that enhance the quality of Dressage in the United States\, through any and all of its component disciplines – riding\, competing\, training\, instructing and judging. The Dressage Foundation seeks grant applications that contain bold\, creative\, innovative ideas for the improvement and strengthening of Dressage. The Dressage Foundation encourages collaborative efforts\, where one or more equestrian organizations might pool their financial resources with a grant from The Michael Poulin Dressage Fund to accomplish new\, big\, important results in Dressage.  The Selection Committee prefers applications for programs that will provide education and training for a group\, rather than an individual effort.\nClick the above image to view entire brochure.\nIn 2012\, the Selection Committee awarded a $3\,000 grant to Dressage4Kids’ Winter Intensive Program\, to be held in Wellington\, FL in 2013.  A $1\,500 grant was awarded to Team EnGaged\, to host a Pony Clinic with Lendon Gray.  See the press release for more details. \nGrant Application Information\nBeginning January 1\, 2013\, Poulin Fund applications will be accepted once per year.  All applications must be received in our office on or before June 1st of each year\, with an announcement made by August 1st (grants will be made for programs/events that fall after August 1\, 2013).
